Haymishe and Hip: Chazzan Daniela’s Report on the Oneg Spadina she hosted
March 16th, 2011 Posted in Other Items of InterestOur first ever Oneg Spadina (Jan. 21, 2011) was a wonderful, haymishe event at Dan’s and my home in Kensington Market.
Everyone brought desserts, and we feasted, and and it was all great company. We’re looking forward to more of these sorts of events, so let us know if you’re interested in future ones.
We sang several Shabbat songs, and Elise (of Montreal’s Jewstice League Klezmer Ensemble) played violin.
We had a Kabbalat Shabbat “service” infused with Tu B’Shvat fruit-eating and wine-drinking.
