The Songs of Our Hearts
Shir Libeynu means “song of our hearts,” and music is an important part of all of our services and celebrations. Our music director and chazzan, Daniela Gesundheit, coordinates and leads the musical liturgy for our community and, in addition to being our main source for the prayers and songs at High Holy Days and many services throughout the year, she has also taught the liturgy to volunteers and professionals in our congregation. Our choir is a mainstay of our High Holy Day services. Musicians among us include solo singers of all generations, klezmer players and a group of instrumentalists and singers who accompany at many chanting services held throughout the year. Many of us love to dance, as well: we have done so at festival parties and even spontaneously at Yontiv when inspired!
