High Holy Days: The Junior Edition

High Holy Days: The Junior Edition

Our free children’s program is available for all children ages three to eight years old. Children must be registered on our High Holy Days form.

Rosh Hashanah Day #1, Monday, October 3rd

Join Rabbi Aviva Goldberg for a special family service in the shul at 9:30 a.m. sharp. This interactive service will bring the celebration of the Jewish New Year to life for kids and their grown ups.

Later, in the Spirit Room, the children will learn about brachot (blessings) with Rebecca Sheridan, through crafts, songs and stories.

Rosh Hashanah Day #2, Tuesday, October 4th

Kids – dress for a mess. We’ll be making challah and the flour will be flying. This hands-on bread-making experience provides each child with the opportunity to make a unique, individual-sized challah – with raisins or without!

On both days of Rosh Hashanah, the kids visit the main service to hear the blowing of the shofar.

Yom Kippur Morning, Wednesday,October 12th

Our children’s service in Shaw Hall is being led by our president, Jamie Flagal. Jamie makes even the most serious day of the year fun! Grown ups are welcome to join their kids as we sing, pray and read Torah together. This brief service begins at 10:15 a.m. and will run for 30 to 45 minutes.

After the service, our Yom Kippur kids’ activities will include crafts, stories and games.

Our children’s program takes place in the Spirit Room, except where otherwise noted. All children must be signed in. The Spirit Room is open and sign in begins 15 minutes before the start of services. Our program runs until services are over. A healthy snack will be served at each session.
