Learning at Shul for Our Youngest Members

DSC_0095During the High Holy Days, Shir Libeynu’s children’s programming includes holiday-themed activities (songs, stories, crafts and challah making) that informally teach children about the significance and traditions of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Our family-friendly services held on both holidays are engaging and participatory. This teaching continues throughout the year through celebrations of such chagim (holidays) as Sukkot, Chanukah and Purim.

Our Shabbat and holiday children’s programming for children ages three to six years of age frequently includes storytelling, songs and crafts, led by experienced staff. We welcome children and their adults to attend regularly or drop in. All children are always welcome in the chapel during the services, where Rabbi Goldberg shares wisdom in words and song, and the congregation participates in d’or v’la dor (from generation to generation) action together.

The Shir Libeynu School Supplemental Jewish Learning Program : a supplemental, weekly series of classes, with an experienced teacher of Jewish education, and held on Sundays, where young people will learn about Jewish history, stories, language, arts and culture and social activism, in keeping with Shir Libeynu’s mandate of inclusiveness and innovation.
