Join us for our 13th annual Shabbat in celebration of Pride, led by Rabbi Aviva Goldberg with chazzanut and music by Paula Wolfson. This evening service will include Havdallah, the end of Sabbath ceremony. We will use traditional and modern prayers, and supplements from religious and secular literature and thought that reflect LGBTQ+ experience.
Our special guest speaker at the service this year is El-Farouk Khaki, a human rights activist, refugee lawyer and the co-founder and imam of el-Tawhid Juma Circle (2009). El-Farouk is also the founder of Salaam: Queer Muslim Community.
The Pride Havdallah service will be followed by a dessert reception.
The event is open to all ages.
