During the service, long-time member Jacquie Buncel, a poet and second-generation Holocaust educator, will present selections from her collection, “Turning the Corner at Dusk,” and other works. Jacquie’s poems explore her mother’s experience as a hidden child in France and her father’s story as a child survivor and orphan. The horror of that time lives alongside altruism and resistance – a testimony to the strength of the human spirit. Jacquie will explore second-generation learning, remembering and moving forward.
This presentation occurs during our Shabbat service, when we will also honour survivors and their families.
A kiddish follows the service.
