Your donations to Congregation Shir Libeynu make a difference! We are very generous with subsidies to those in need for memberships, tickets and food. We count on those who can give a little more to help us honour this commitment to tzedekah and accessibility.
Shir Libeynu Fund:
In November 2009, the Shir Libeynu Fund was established. Proceeds from the fund go towards ensuring that Shir Libeynu continues to thrive while ensuring access to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We hope that by establishing this fund, we will be able offer more to our members while also strengthening the ties between us all.
Click here to donate to the Shir Libeynu Fund (please note that we do not have credit card capability – just PayPal).
Alternatively, you can make out a cheque to our Congregation Shir Libeynu (please write “Shir Libeynu Fund” in the “Memo” or “”Re” section on the cheque) and mail it to our postal box at the mailing address of Congregation Shir Libeynu, 8171 Yonge Street # 122, Thornhill, Ontario L3T 2C6. Please send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org stating the reason for your donation so we can acknowledge it in our e-letter and on our website. Donations in any amount are welcome and income tax receipts will be issued.
The Rabbi’s Development Fund
On November 22nd, we honoured Aviva for her dedication and service to Congregation Shir Libeynu and we also celebrated her ordination (smicha) as rabbi, which she has been in all but formal title since our beginning. Along with a traditional Havdalah service, we held this unique celebration of Jewish leadership, Jewish continuity and progress. With Aviva’s guidance and bravery, Shir Libeynu has led the way in Toronto for acceptance and full involvement of women, interfaith couples and the LGBT community. We were the trailblazers and we will continue to be the leading edge in Jewish pluralism and social responsibility in Toronto and Canada.
In honour of this day and to build for the future, Shir Libeynu started the Rabbi’s Program Development Fund. We continue to welcome donations from the Congregation Shir Libeynu family and friends in Aviva’s honour so that we may provide for programming and projects that are near and dear to Rabbi Aviva’s heart and reflect the shul’s interests and needs.
